Cavs fall, Spurs and Warriors do well

The first upset of the night comes from Brooklyn where the Nets stop the Cleveland Cavaliers’ run and LeBron James at point guard. Obviously the king is the last one to jump ship and compiles another triple double, even though he misses the potential tying free throws with seconds left. He is the one who always keeps his team there, which in the final stitches up with Korver and has the chance for the tie right with Love’s TD pass to him, which, however, after a series of deflections goes back into the hands of the hosts. Despite the absence of D’Angelo Russell, it was Dinwiddle who produced an incredible 22-point game to give his team the victory.
Also in Philadelphia, the game is vibrant to say the least with the Sixers holding the lead for large stretches thanks to the talents of Joel Embiid 21 points and still finding themselves ahead in the fourth period. Going into the final minute the lead was five points, but Harden penetrated by getting fouled and Embiid gave him the three-point play with interference. On the ensuing possession Philly commits a 24″ infraction in an exaggerated attempt to run out the clock, so the last word is Houston’s with Harden penetrating, offloading for Gordon who after a fake slips in the winning triple right at the buzzer, giving his team the almost unhoped-for victory the way the match had turned out.

In Oklahoma City come the Indiana Pacers and Paul George plays his first game against the former team that shows up without Myles Turner still struggling with concussion protocol. He attacks the match PG but then stops finishing with ten points, one rebound and six fouls in the pittance of 19 minutes played, but he is not needed as Westbrook compiles a triple double of 28 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds, assisted by Anthony’s 28 and 10 and Adams’ 17+11. Poisoned tooth for Victor Oladipo who put up 35, but it wasn’t enough for the Pacers. A sprint victory instead for the champions Golden State who got the better of the Toronto Raptors only in the final, thanks to a triple scored with 40″ to go by Steph Curry. The game comes in balance until the final, thanks to DeRozan’s 24 points and especially Siakam’s 20 points started in the quintet. On the other were Curry’s 30 and Durant’s 29, as well as Thompson’s 22, who will donate $1,000 per point to a local foundation. It’s still victory for the San Antonio Spurs, who assigned Tony Parker to the D-League and even without Kawhi Leonard are undefeated thanks to LaMarcus Aldridge’s 31 and an excellent Rudy Gay’s 22. The Lakers also won against the Wizards in overtime in the much-talked-about fight between John Wall and Lonzo Ball, but ultimately featuring Larry Nance and Brandon Ingram both with double-doubles.
