Paolo Maldini expresses himself on Rafael Leao’s renewal negotiations

Acc Milan wants to keep Rafael Leao and the management is ready to close the negotiations for the Portuguese’s renewal before the World Cup break: this was confirmed by Paolo Maldini, who spoke at the microphones of ‘Sky Sport’ on the sidelines of the champions’ match between the Rossoneri and Chelsea.

“We wanted to do it six months ago, however, there must be the conditions to do it,” explained the technical director of the Milanese club. “The idea is to do it before the championship ends, before November 12.”

Leao is in his fourth season with the Rossoneri jersey. After a chiaroscuro year, he emerged already in the season marked by the lockdown, and then confirmed himself in the last one by winning the Scudetto as a star player. His contract with the Rossoneri expires on June 30, 2024, and the club would like to armor the player as soon as possible, thus extending his time in Milan.
