Bacosi-Cainero: "Dedicated to families"

No envy, just a lot of pride. The Italian skeet twins enter the history of Italian Olympic sports thanks to a memorable double: Diana Bacosi and Chiara Cainero finish first and second ahead of legend Kimberly Rhode and after the Mameli anthem they continue to celebrate.
“This gold is dedicated to my son Mattia and my family. The biggest difficulty was leaving him at home,” said the Olympic champion. “I would have liked to celebrate with a run, but when I saw the scoreboard I froze in a cry that wouldn’t end.”
More compassionate Chiara Cainero, in her second Olympic medal after the Beijing gold medal always in skeet. But relegation to second place is hardly a diminutio:
.
“I’m overjoyed, for me this is a silver that is worth gold,” said the Friulian shooter, a fifth-place finisher in London. “I’m happy for Diana, because I know the sacrifices and effort she makes.”
