Milan market, Allegri sets his sights on Brazilian bomber

Between evaluations and discards, the list of profiles followed by Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri remains extensive. The final decision, however, will be up to ad Giorgio Furlani together with the ownership, and some names could be ruled out: either because of age, such as Robert Lewandowski, or because of too high costs between wages and commissions, such as Dušan Vlahović in case of non-renewal with Juventus.
About Vlahović, the future of the Serbian center forward remains one of the most intricate rebuses of the upcoming summer market. Despite his expiring contract and a season affected by numerous injuries, Luciano Spalletti has publicly stated that he wants to keep him in Turin: “Does he want to stay? Yes. Dusan is training with enthusiasm, he is a professional with great character and has the characteristics that the team lacks.” Juventus, however, does not want to sell out for the renewal and is asking for a discount on the current salary. If the deal does not come, AC Milan would remain in the background as a possible destination, also complicit with the presence of Allegri, his former coach, on the bench.
Among the center forwards under observation there is one who had already emerged at the end of January, only to defile in the following months, but without really coming off the radar. He is Gabriel Jesus, 29, who returned fully available in the second half of the season after the long stop due to the knee injury that made him miss most of 2025.
The Brazilian’s is a profile that convinces Allegri a lot and, for some months, he has been followed by the agency of Giovanni Branchini, the same agent of the coach. At Arsenal, the former Palmeiras and Manchester City player finds little space also due to the presence of Gyökeres, has a contract until 2027 and in the summer could turn into an interesting market opportunity.
Gyökeres’ position as an immovable starter in the Gunners’ attack has emerged clearly over the course of this season: the Swede has led Arteta’s team to the Champions League quarterfinals and is steadily the offensive reference in the Londoners’ likely lineups, effectively relegating Jesus to a marginal role. It is a hierarchy that is unlikely to change, making separation in the summer an increasingly concrete scenario.
On the economic front, according to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jesus’ player card is reportedly valued at around 20 million euros, a figure considered affordable for Milan. On the other hand, the main knot remains the salary, which amounts to 16 million gross: a non-negligible obstacle that the Rossoneri management will have to tackle carefully, looking for creative solutions to make the operation sustainable within the overall budget allocated to the summer market.
It should be remembered that that of Jesus is not the only open front in attack for Milan. Allegri’s roster could undergo a real revolution in the offensive department: Fullkrug will not be redeemed, Santiago Gimenez will have to be reevaluated after a season spent in the pits, and Rafael Leão – between whistles at San Siro and an erratic performance – is no longer considered untouchable by the management, which in case of a suitable offer, around 50 million, would be willing to negotiate his transfer. In this scenario, a striker with the characteristics of Gabriel Jesus – ductile, experienced at the international level and already in Branchini’s orbit – would represent a concrete answer to the tactical needs of the Livorno coach.
