Torino already working on the market, two ideas for the next goalkeeper

Among Torino’s priorities for the upcoming soccer market session is definitely the purchase of a new goalkeeper: Franco Israel has disappointed and will most likely say goodbye to the Granata club in the summer. The Uruguayan, bought last year from Sporting for 4.5 million euros, has played very little and has been supplanted by Alberto Paleari, who, however, is 33 years old and has a contract expiring in 2027.

Gianluca Petrachi is already working to identify Torino’s new starting goalkeeper and among the most convincing profiles is Christos Mandas. The Greek left Lazio in January to move to Bournemouth but has never played in England and will soon return to Rome and then look for a permanent solution since he does not fit into the biancocelesti’s plans. Claudio Lotito would be happy to place Mandas but he will not discount him: about 10 million euros will be needed to buy him.

Another profile that Petrachi likes a lot is that of Arijanet Murić from Sassuolo. The Montenegrin extreme defender arrived in Italy on loan last summer from Ipswich Town but things did not go so well and he recently declared that he will not stay at Sassuolo for personal reasons.

He grew up in Switzerland in the ranks of Zurich, Murić later moved to Manchester City. After his experience in the Netherlands with NAC Breda, he returned to England to play with Nottingham Forest and then flew to Spain to Girona.

After a brief spell at Willem II he played for Adana Demirspor, then in 2022 moved to Burnley and then to Ipswich Town, which last summer sold him on loan with the right of redemption to Sassuolo.
