Roland Garros: Jannik Sinner returns to the court to complete the home stand

This is it. Jannik Sinner, after triumphing at the Foro Italico, finds red clay again, this time that of the prestigious Roland Garros. As number 1 in the world and on the scoreboard, he goes after the only Slam he still lacks. Already having in his home trophy cabinet the Australian Open (2), US Open and Wimbledon trophies, he would like to complete the quartet with that of Roland Garros champion (also to avenge last year’s final lost to Carlos Alcaraz).
Not only that. By winning the 2026 edition of Roland Garros, the Italian would complete his own private collection of major trophies: all four Grand Slam events, each of the nine Masters 1000s, the Atp Finals, and even the Davis Cup.
In the history of tennis and, in particular, thinking about the Big Three, only Novak Djokovic has managed to take home everything that, important, there is to win on the circuit. Of course, the Serbian has won 24 Slam events while Jannik Sinner is “only” at four but we are still in the early part of the Italian phenomenon’s career.
Jannik Sinner has reiterated, time and again, that he does not play for records. The world number 1 is only interested in winning. Everything else is secondary and will only make sense when he decides to stop wielding the racket. However, for those who are following his sporting exploits, it is really special to be able to point out all the records that the South Tyrolean is shattering to the tune of victories and titles.
