Alps Tour, Andrea Romano drops the trifecta in France

Andrea Romano conquered the Open de Roissy – Grand Prix PGA France with an extraordinary total of 199 strokes (72 62 65, -17), clinching his third success of the season on the Alps Tour and thus gaining direct and immediate promotion to the HotelPlanner Tour. A well-deserved recognition for the 25-year-old from Rome, absolute protagonist of the first part of the season. After triumphs in the first three competitions on the calendar, the Red Sea Little Venice Open and the New Giza Open in Egypt, Romano consolidated his leadership of the order of merit thanks to four more appearances in the top ten, arriving at the Golf International de Roissy (par 72) event, on the outskirts of Paris, in the best conditions to complete his feat.
Making the Italian balance even more significant was also the excellent performance of Alessandro Nodari. The 26-year-old finished in sixth place with 203 strokes (69 65 70, -13), earning his fourth consecutive top ten, with two second places gained in previous outings. Behind Romano was England’s Mason Essam, who finished second with 200 strokes (-16). Third at 202 (-14) for a group consisting of Frenchmen Paul Franquet, Theo Boulet and Louis Darthenay (leader after 36 holes), Irishman Robert Moran and fellow transalpine Nicolas Calvet, Mateo Bardou and Dorian Fournier. Among the other Italians in the competition, Lucas Nicolas Fallotico finished 21st with 208 (-8), Carlo Maria Asti 30th with 210 (-6) and Giovanni Manzoni 35th with 212 (-4).
For Romano this is his fifth career victory on the Alps Tour, following his successes in 2025 at the Alps de Andalucia-Roquetas de Mar and the Fred Olsen Alps de La Gomera. Decisive was his second round of 62 strokes (-10), enhanced by an eagle and eight birdies, which allowed him to climb from 56th to third. He then confirmed his excellent form in the final round with a 65 (-7), without committing bogey in the last 36 holes of the tournament.
Romano can also boast a brilliant amateur past, during which he wore the Italian national team jersey for a long time and won the prestigious Junior Orange Bowl in 2019. For his success in France, he received a check for 7,900 euros, as part of a total prize pool of 53,000 euros.
