Gabriel Strefezza is among the players Ignazio Abate is closely monitoring to bolster Torino’s attack. The Brazilian, who has already played for SPAL, Lecce, and Como in Italy, is coming off six months with Parma and has reportedly expressed a desire to continue playing in Serie A. This prospect currently seems to outweigh the possibility of returning to Olympiacos, the club with which he is still under a long-term contract.

The player’s stance could facilitate Torino’s plans, as the club is closely monitoring the situation. Strefezza, in fact, would be willing to consider certain conditions in order to remain in Italian soccer. Also working in Torino’s favor are the excellent relations between his agent, Alessandro Lucci, and the club’s top brass.

Discussions between the parties have already begun and could intensify in the coming weeks. There is no shortage of competition, however: Parma continues to track the player with the aim of bringing him back to Emilia after his contributions in the second half of last season.

It is worth noting that the interest between Torino and Strefezza has deep roots. As early as the summer of 2021, when the Brazilian was playing for SPAL, Torino had attempted to sign him but failed to finalize the deal. A year and a half later, in January 2024, the winger’s name was back in the spotlight at Torino: at the time, coach Ivan Juric had identified him as the ideal reinforcement for the attack, with Lecce valuing him at around eight million euros. Even on that occasion, the deal fell through, but the Piedmontese club’s interest in the player never completely faded.

Strefezza’s career in Italy has been brilliant overall. After stints at SPAL and Lecce, the 1997-born player joined Como in January 2023, becoming one of the key figures in the Larians’ historic promotion to Serie A. The following season, under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas, he made 37 appearances in the top flight, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists, before being sold outright to Olympiacos in the summer of 2025.
