Verona returns to Serie A; Ramagli first and foremost congratulates Rimini

Coach Ramagli celebrated Verona’s return to Serie A in the press room: “The first thing I’ll say is that it was a tremendous honor to play against a team that, despite the injury to one of its players—which gave them a big boost—performed really well. In front of a great crowd. Even though Rimini didn’t walk away with the trophy, they’ll have to count this season as a tremendous one.”

“Then there are the thanks to my players, who allowed me, upon my arrival, to lend a hand; they made themselves available, and that wasn’t a given. I know Verona is a place for connoisseurs, and it called for a major event. And that event came with our return to Serie A. In Game 3, we ran into trouble with Rimini’s adjustments. So tonight we changed the roles of some players a bit. We let Rimini come back in the second quarter, then we held on in the third.

“Basketball is different now compared to years ago, with the three-pointer being very important. We held on thanks to the bench, which made sure Rimini’s surge was stifled. Then it’s true that Zampini’s two final baskets sealed the game. I want to keep coaching because I enjoy it; I want to take on challenges, like this one in Verona. I don’t need to close any chapters—in fact, the more open they stay, the better,” Ramagli concluded.
