As is well known, Torino will completely overhaul its goalkeeping roster this summer, with several names on the shopping list for the summer transfer window. As for the starting goalkeeper position, the options have narrowed down to three: Wladimiro Falcone (Lecce), Lorenzo Montipò (Verona), and Federico Ravaglia (Bologna). Discussions are underway with all three candidates, and important updates on this front are expected soon.

With Franco Israel set to leave and Alberto Paleari slated to take on the role of backup goalkeeper, the club is also looking to the future and has been in talks for some time with Diego Mascardi, the promising goalkeeper for Spezia and the Under-21 national team. The young goalkeeper, born in 2008, has been in talks with the Piedmont-based club for weeks, but just in the last few days he has received an inquiry from a top-tier club.

According to Tuttosport, Roma has set its sights on him, expressing concrete interest in the player. For now, the Giallorossi have made an initial inquiry but could soon move to make a formal offer.

So far, negotiations between Torino and Spezia have proceeded slowly, with Torino offering up to 1.5 million euros for Mascardi’s transfer rights, compared to the 2.5 million euros demanded by Spezia. The gap could be bridged soon, and the player himself is pushing for a new challenge; the deal appears to be well underway, Roma permitting.
