2026 World Cup, Round of 16: When and Where to Watch the Matches (including free-to-air broadcasts)

At the 2026 World Cup, it’s “do or die” time. Following the revamped group stage featuring 48 teams, the knockout rounds begin on Sunday evening Italian time—a true lottery with 32 teams in the running, where there’s no room for error: the winners keep their dreams alive, while the losers head home.
In the event of a tie at the end of ninety minutes plus stoppage time, two extra-time periods of fifteen minutes each will be played, with no special rules. Should the score remain tied after 120 minutes, the match will proceed to a penalty shootout, following the standard five-round format with the possibility of continuing until a winner is determined.
