When Will Jannik Sinner Play at Wimbledon? His Previous Matches Against Kecmanovic

Just a few hours to go until Jannik Sinner’s debut at Wimbledon. The defending champion and clear favorite for the season’s third Grand Slam is one of the most eagerly anticipated players in London: as is tradition, last year’s champion will be the first to take the court on the legendary Center Court on the opening day of competition.
On Monday, June 29, Jannik Sinner will take the court against Miomir Kecmanovic at 2:30 p.m. (Italian time). The Italian has faced the Serbian player four times in the past, winning all four matches. In their most recent meeting in 2024, the South Tyrolean prevailed right here at Wimbledon in three sets, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. In addition to Sinner, two other Italians will make their debuts on Monday: Luciano Darderi against Ethan Quinn no earlier than 2:30 p.m., and Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the women’s draw against China’s Xinyu Wang. Novak Djokovic, one of Sinner’s most formidable rivals, will also take the court in the evening.
All matches will be broadcast exclusively on Sky and streamed on NOW. In terms of preparation, Sinner has taken a different approach compared to previous years, opting out of official grass-court tournaments leading up to the Championships. To make up for the lack of official matches, he participated in the Armani Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Club, where he defeated Cameron Norrie 6-3, 6-3, and a training session on Court 1 at the All England Club with Novak Djokovic, which ended with Djokovic winning a set 6-3.
Djokovic himself, chasing his eighth Wimbledon title, wanted to send a message to the Italian: “When the time comes to step onto Center Court before everyone else, to see the fresh grass as the defending champion, he’ll realize that there’s no other feeling in the world of tennis that can compare. I have no advice to give him, other than to tell him to enjoy the moment because things like this are very rare.”
