Fiorentina Transfer Market: Two Defenders Headed to Juric’s Monza

The first training session took place today in Monzello under Ivan Juric, but the most interesting news for Monza comes from the transfer market. The newly promoted Serie A club has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Fiorentina for the signing of Eddy Kouadio, a center back born in 2006 who is expected to join the red-and-whites on loan. All that’s left is for the deal to be made official.

The transfer ties with the Viola, however, may not stop there. The Monza management is reportedly also keeping a close eye on Matias Moreno. Fresh off a successful season on loan at Levante, the Argentine defender, born in 2003, is highly regarded for his versatility—a trait he shares with Kouadio and one that makes him a particularly sought-after prospect for the coaching staff.

For Juric, this marks his first official day on the job as Monza’s head coach following the final termination of his contract with Atalanta, which was formalized on June 27. The Bergamo-based club had announced the mutual separation in an official statement, with the Croatian coach reportedly accepting a severance package equal to approximately four months’ salary—for a total amount close to 650,000 euros—thereby ending the final year of his contract early, which had provided for a salary of about 2 million euros.

Matteo Pessina and his teammates will begin their new adventure in the top flight with what appears to be a daunting away match: they will face defending Italian champions Inter on the road.
