Olimpia Milano: Coach Peppe Poeta Issues a Call to Action—Two More to Go

Armani Olimpia Milano has made a number of official signings, especially in recent days. The latest addition is RJ Cole, who joins Peters, Burnell, Hall, Akele, and Thompson. In short, the red-and-white club certainly hasn’t been sitting idly by during this revolutionary offseason.

In fact, the roster is nearly complete. As for Italian players, assuming the contract extensions for Diop and Tonut are a done deal (expected shortly), no one else is needed: Thompson and Akele have taken the places of Mannion and Ellis, who have moved on to Club Roma SPQR and St. John’s University in the NCAA, respectively.

Coach Poeta has admitted that, at this point, only two names are missing from the roster. Specifically, Armani Olimpia Milano is reportedly looking for a wing player and a big man. For both positions, they need players with specific traits that will bring quality to a deeply revamped team.

Many names are being mentioned at the moment, but no leads seem to be truly well underway yet. The Milan-based club intends to take all the time necessary to select the right players—preferably of international caliber—perhaps even keeping an eye on the NBA Summer League.
