After two seasons with Cantù, Andrea De Nicolao is making a fresh start in Serie A2, and he’s doing so in a VL Pesaro jersey: On Thursday, the red-and-white club officially announced the signing of the point guard, born in 1991, who is thus returning to the second division he had left as a playoff champion with Cantù at the end of the 2024–2025 season.

“Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro Pesaro announces that it has signed an agreement valid through the end of the 2027–2028 season, with a mutual opt-out clause by the end of the 2026–2027 season, with player Andrea De Nicolao. A point guard born in 1991 and standing 185 cm tall, he is synonymous with experience and reliability for his teammates, both on and off the court,” reads the club’s statement.

“It is an immense honor for me to wear the VL jersey,” said De Nicolao. “I’ve accepted this challenge with great enthusiasm and determination. I’d like to thank the entire club—and in particular CEO Alessandro Dalla Salda, sports director Nicola Egidio, and coach Giorgio Valli—for really wanting me here. A special shout-out goes to all the fans: as an opponent, I’ve always felt the extraordinary warmth of the Vitrifrigo Arena, and I can’t wait to repay their passion alongside my teammates.”

“Mentality, experience, leadership,” commented Nicola Egidio himself regarding the new addition to Pesaro’s roster. “Andrea De Nicolao brings these qualities to the table. We also believe he is the right fit to further solidify our team-building strategy, which is centered on the combination of young players and veterans.”
