Hellas Verona Transfer News: Nicola Leali Will Guard the Gialloblù Goal

Hellas Verona has made a major transfer move as it aims for an immediate return to Serie A. The Gialloblù club announced via its official channels the signing of Nicola Leali. The goalkeeper has signed a contract with the Gialloblù club through June 30, 2028.

Born in Castiglione delle Stiviere, in the province of Mantua, on February 17, 1993, Leali came up through the youth ranks at Brescia, where he made his professional debut and played in Serie A. Throughout his career, he has played for Brescia, Virtus Lanciano, Spezia, Cesena, Frosinone, Olympiacos, Zulte Waregem, Perugia, Foggia, Ascoli, and Genoa, gaining extensive experience in Serie A, Serie B, and international competitions.

In the 2016–2017 season, he had his first experience playing abroad with Olympiacos. With the Greek club, he won the national championship and made his European debut on September 15, 2016, starting in the Europa League match that ended in a 1-0 victory on the road against Young Boys. During that same season, he also reached the round of 16 in the European competition.

After his stint in Greece, Leali continued his career in Belgium with Zulte Waregem, before returning to Italy to play for Perugia, Foggia, and Ascoli. In 2023, he joined Genoa, for whom he has made 54 appearances in Serie A.
