Napoli Transfer Market: Price Cut for Romelu Lukaku; Negotiations Move Forward

Romelu Lukaku is not part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans, and Napoli has been working for several weeks to find a new home for the unwanted player. The Belgian striker has been approached by Atlanta United and New York City, but the club closest to signing him is Fenerbahçe.

The Turkish club has already submitted a €6 million offer to Napoli, but Aurelio De Laurentiis rejected it, asking for just over double that amount. Fenerbahçe then slowed down the talks, signaling to the Neapolitans to reconsider their terms, and the strategy produced the desired effect.

Aurelio De Laurentiis, who is personally handling the sale of Romelu Lukaku, has decided to lower the club’s asking price, and the request now stands at around 8 to 10 million euros. The deal could be finalized very soon, especially considering that the striker has already reached an agreement with the Turkish club.

The agreement between Lukaku and the Yellow Canaries was reached on the basis of a one-year contract (renewable next summer) worth 10 million euros. Meanwhile, Napoli is already working to replace him, and the most likely candidate is Gabriel Jesus.

The Arsenal striker, coming off a couple of rather injury-plagued seasons, is eager for a comeback and would very much welcome a move to Napoli. In recent weeks, he has received several offers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, but his desire is to continue his career at a club that competes in the Champions League.
