Paolo Di Canio is still very harsh on Leao: scathing remarks

In the pages of *Corriere della Sera*, Paolo Di Canio launched a scathing attack on Rafael Leao. This isn’t the first time: the former striker is often highly critical of the Milan star, and once again he didn’t hold back: “We’re always wondering why he plays four good games and then goes cold. He’s gone from one coach to another and always has the same attitude.”

“Amorim says he needs to have fun, but let’s be serious: who’s having fun out on the field? You sweat, you work, you run, and above all, you make sacrifices,” emphasized the former champion, who also played for Milan for two years. “Soccer is a job—it’s not just two or three hours a day of training.”

Di Canio then spoke about the Rossoneri’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim: “He’s certainly among the best up-and-coming coaches, but he’ll have his work cut out for him. At United, he struck me because he wanted to play the tough guy right away, benching Rashford, then Mainoo—and I didn’t think that was fair. Now he says Leao needs to have fun; I don’t get it. Are music and fashion shows on the agenda?”

In recent weeks, there’s been a lot of talk about Rafael Leao’s future: Galatasaray would like to sign him to round out a star-studded attack (the roster already includes Victor Osimhen, Barış Alper Yılmaz, and Leroy Sané), but an agreement with Milan still seems far off.

The Istanbul club is leaning toward a loan with an option to buy, while the Rossoneri remain unyielding: whoever wants to sign the Portuguese player will have to do so on a permanent basis, paying between 50 and 60 million euros.
