With Luis Enrique’s blessing, Juventus is moving quickly to finalize the Zion Suzuki deal. The first step was taken with the agreement between Parma and Paris Saint-Germain, reached for approximately 35 million euros for the Japanese goalkeeper. This agreement has kicked off the second phase of the deal: Suzuki’s possible immediate transfer to Juve on loan.

Signals are coming from Paris with increasing frequency regarding the Eiffel Tower club’s desire to send the player to Turin—a solution also viewed favorably by the French club, whose Spanish coach is ready to explain to the Japanese goalkeeper that, at least for this season, he does not intend to create competition for the starting spot between the posts. It’s one way or the other: Zion knows that now. Juventus management is working intensively with the Parisians and the goalkeeper’s entourage to reach a final agreement. The goal for Juventus and Spalletti is to close the deal quickly and have their new number one available within a few days.

In fact, talks with Suzuki had been underway for some time. Initially, Juve had considered buying him directly from Parma, but then backed off in the face of the Emilia-Romagna club’s high asking price. However, PSG’s involvement in the deal has created a win-win solution for all parties. The French club can secure a goalkeeper they’re counting on both from a technical standpoint and for strategic reasons related to the Asian market, while Juventus would have the opportunity to strengthen that position without having to make a significant investment right away.

At the moment, in fact, Suzuki would not have a place in Paris, where PSG can also count on Chevalier. Hence the idea of letting the Japanese player develop on loan at Juventus, postponing any decisions on the goalkeeper hierarchy until next season. The details of the deal still need to be worked out: Juventus would prefer a straight loan, but a solution must be found that protects all parties involved.

The acceleration of the Suzuki deal is causing the Vicario option to lose ground, although the possibility of a loan with an option to buy set at around 15 million remains in the background.
