NBA: No Doubts About Steph Curry’s Future: The Warriors’ GM’s Announcement

Steph Curry, born in 1988, has always played for Golden State. His debut? The 2009–10 season. He’s won four championships with the Warriors, always as the undisputed star. A true icon for the franchise. His future? There’s no doubt about it.

“He’s never said he wanted to leave,” said Mike Dunleavy, the Warriors’ GM, as reported by ESPN. “It’s always been that way. That’s always been what he’s talked about. I think things are moving in the right direction.”

Curry’s $62.5 million contract expires on August 29. There are rumors of a two-year extension worth a total of $136.7 million.

“Ultimately, it’s up to him to decide whether to let his contract expire and leave,” added Mike Dunleavy. “Look, if he comes to me and wants to be traded, Joe (Lacob, the Warriors’ majority owner) and I will discuss it. We wouldn’t be happy about it, but he’s earned the right to do whatever he wants. As for the statements or the idea that he might go elsewhere, that’s not something we’re considering, nor is it something he’s considering.” In short, the feeling is that Steph Curry will stay with Golden State until the end of his career.
