MotoGP: Jorge Martin’s Surprising Prediction About Marc Marquez

Don’t let the terrible weekend at Silverstone fool you: Marc Marquez will dominate at Aragon. That’s according to Aprilia rider Jorge Martin, the MotoGP World Championship leader with a 40-point advantage over the Catalan, who appeared to be in enormous difficulty at Silverstone.

But at Aragon it will be a different story, according to Martin: “The last time I raced at Aragon, I finished second; there, however, Marc Marquez is unbeatable and will dominate, but we’ll try to stay as close to him as possible. Plus, I think Marquez did a little worse than expected at Silverstone,” he told As. “By the end of the year, though, there will be many positive races for me, and I can’t wait to keep enjoying this moment and the fight to win the championship.”

Marquez’s performance is being affected by his physical condition, which remains precarious following surgery on his right shoulder last November. “My right arm isn’t the same as it was last year; it isn’t the same as it was in the first part of the season. It’s a different right arm,” Marquez had already admitted on the eve of the British race weekend.

According to rumors reported by journalist Simon Patterson of The Race, the situation may be even worse than the rider is letting on: “He tells us he’s in shape even when he isn’t, and he never attributes his performance to his physical condition. I’ve spoken with several people close to him, and they’ve given me the impression that the situation isn’t good: he still has several shoulder problems.”
