Milan Transfer Market: Another Blockbuster Deal on the Horizon—60 Million Euros Ready

On Sunday evening, Milan will make its league debut of the season against Torino, but the lineup we see may not be the final one: the club is working hard in the transfer market, and in the coming days, new players could arrive to bolster the new direction set by Ruben Amorim.

Among the possible new signings is Gonçalo Inacio, a center back and captain of Sporting who has caught the Rossoneri’s eye. The star player was not selected by Rui Borges for the match against Alverca, which has fueled rumors about a possible transfer for the 2001-born player, who is also being closely monitored by Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

Sporting has signed many players this transfer window, but the financial balance is positive thanks to the sales of Geovany Quend, Morten Hjulmand, Ousmane Diomande, Francisco Trincão, Alisson Santos, Diogo Travassos, and Giorgi Kochorashvili, which have brought in just under 200 million euros.

The Portuguese club therefore has no need to sell for financial reasons, and anyone interested in Gonçalo Inácio will have to pay the center back’s release clause: 60 million euros—not a penny less. Should Milan and Barcelona fail to meet Sporting’s demands, Rui Borges would be more than happy to keep his captain and field him for the upcoming matches.

Milan has already bolstered its defense with the signing of Mario Gila, who arrived from Lazio for 30 million euros, and the promising young Sankhoun Diawara has also joined from Troyes. Another 50 million euros were paid to Strasbourg for left winger Diego Moreira, followed by the blockbuster signing of Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain for 74 million euros.
