2026-2027 Premier League: Everton vs. Manchester United—Probable Lineups

Everton, led by veteran manager David Moyes, hasn’t had a bad start to the season. After two matchdays, the Toffees have four points in the standings, thanks to a solid win against Crystal Palace and a draw with Bournemouth in the last round. The same cannot be said for Manchester United, which will face Everton this Sunday at 3 p.m.
In their season opener, the Red Devils lost 2-0 to newly promoted Hull City, and in the next match, they managed a win—though not without some difficulty—against Ipswich Town. Michael Carrick absolutely must turn things around, and the match against Everton will be a great opportunity to quell the criticism already circulating within the club.
Moyes has decided to entrust the attacking responsibility to Thierno Barry, with Johnson, Dewsbury-Hall, and former Manchester City player Grealish playing behind him. Johnson and Dewsbury-Hall will operate in midfield to shield against opposing attacks and protect the defense consisting of Röhl, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, and Mykolenko. Pickford will be in goal.
Manchester United isn’t having the best of times on the injury front either: in addition to Matthijs de Ligt, Manuel Ugarte, and Tom Heaton, Amad Diallo and Carlos Baleba are also sidelined. Cunha will lead the attack against Everton, but Sesko is eager to earn a starting spot; in the attacking midfield, Mbeumo, the ever-present Bruno Fernandes, and Rashford—back in England after his loan spell at Barcelona—will feature. Tielemans and Mainoo will anchor the midfield in front of a back four consisting of Dalot, Maguire, Martínez, and Shaw, with Lammens in goal.
