Transfer Market: Andrea Belotti Finds a Team

Andrea Belotti, one of the top free agents on the summer transfer market, will soon find a new team. The former striker for Torino, Palermo, Roma, Fiorentina, and Como has been a free agent since June after Cagliari decided not to renew his contract due to concerns about the condition of his left knee, which underwent surgery a year ago following a serious injury.

Despite returning to the field in April, the Sardinian club did not deem the player fit in June, and he joined the long list of free agents: the former Italian national team player has thus caught the eye of Modena, which views him as a valuable addition to its Serie B squad.

According to Il Resto del Carlino, the Canarini are on the verge of signing “Il Gallo,” so much so that even head coach Daniele Galloppa confirmed the ongoing negotiations during a press conference. Belotti will undergo a series of medical exams before signing a contract with Modena that will drastically reduce his previous salary: his goal is to get back in the game and relaunch his career.

Belotti, who has scored 116 career goals in Serie A, played for Torino for seven seasons, netting 113 goals in 251 matches across all competitions. After two unlucky years in Rome, he played for Fiorentina, Como, Benfica, and Cagliari.
