The Emilia derby between Bologna and Sassuolo is scheduled for Sunday at the Dall’Ara Stadium as part of the third matchday of the Serie A season. The Rossoblù have lost their first two games against Lazio and Atalanta and still have zero points, while the Neroverdi are coming off a solid home win against Torino.

Domenico Tedesco, looking to secure his first points, is once again starting Piccoli, while Dovbyk will begin on the bench. In the attacking midfield are Bernardeschi, Odgaard, and Cambiaghi; Holm and Miranda will play on the wings; and in the midfield, Ferguson will partner with Pobega.

Aquilani’s team features a front three of Berardi (fully recovered), Bowie, and Lauriente, with Bakola, Matic, and Adzic in midfield. The fullbacks will be Cinquegrano and Doig.

Bologna vs. Sassuolo: Probable Lineups
BOLOGNA (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; Holm, Heggem, Theate, Miranda; Ferguson, Pobega; Bernardeschi, Odgaard, Cambiaghi; Piccoli. Head Coach: Tedesco
SASSUOLO (4-3-3): Muric; Cinquegrano, Idzes, Leysen, Doig; Bakola, Matic, Adzic; Berardi, Bowie, Lauriente. Head Coach: Aquilani

Here’s what Domenico Tedesco said at the press conference on the eve of the match: “We’ve done well in many situations, but we’ve lacked that killer instinct. I’m speaking in general terms—it’s not just about the forwards, but a concept that applies to everyone: we need to be more ruthless. We’ll be facing a team in good form that plays well and is coming off two solid results in the league and the Coppa Italia: we’ve seen that they’re a team that plays a direct, vertical style and is very technically skilled. We’re talking about a team that can give anyone a run for their money.”
