Inter Transfer Market: It’s Not Just Dimarco—Another Nerazzurri Player Is Set to Sign a Contract Extension

Carlos Augusto’s goal in Madrid could lead to a contract extension. Inter has already indicated a willingness to extend the former Monza player’s contract—which is currently set to expire in 2028—and after his strong performance against Real Madrid, any remaining doubts appear to have been dispelled.

New sporting director Baccin, who took over from Piero Ausilio, is tasked with resolving the contract situations of six players on the roster. As is well known, Federico Dimarco is among them; in fact, a meeting took place in Madrid between the Nerazzurri’s sporting director and the fullback’s agent.

As for Carlos Augusto, the ball is now in the player’s court. As the Corriere dello Sport points out, the former Monza player ranks behind Bastoni and Dimarco in Chivu’s pecking order and will have to accept a supporting role once again.

The coming weeks could therefore be decisive, with Inter also ready to adjust the Brazilian’s salary. In the meantime, Carlos Augusto could start on Monday against Udinese: much will depend on Dimarco’s condition, as he is expected to return to group training sometime between today and tomorrow.
