Ducati rider Marc Marquez wins the Sprint race at the MotoGP Indonesian Grand Prix, capitalizing on a day to forget for Aprilia’s two regular riders. At the start, Marco Bezzecchi immediately crashed at the first corner after contact with pole-sitter Raul Fernandez, who also ended up in the gravel: both were out of the race.

World Championship leader Jorge Martin took the lead, but on the eighth lap he slowed down abruptly and was passed by Marc Marquez, who seized the opportunity and sped toward victory. Martin may have had a tire pressure issue: toward the end of the race, he lost focus, made a mistake, and was also overtaken by Ai Ogura and Fabio Di Giannantonio, who finished second and third, respectively.

Marquez thus returns to the top of the riders’ standings, ahead of Martin and Bezzecchi. Also in the top ten were Alex Marquez in fifth, followed by Pedro Acosta, Fermin Aldeguer, a lackluster Pecco Bagnaia in eighth, Fabio Quartararo, and Alex Rins.
