Marc Marquez blunt: “Right now we can’t fight for fifth place”

Marc Marquez is not smiling after the second day of testing in Sepang. The various Hondas tested do not satisfy the Catalan rider, when compared to the Ducati and Aprilia behemoths: “We are still far from the fastest riders, that’s obvious…. At the moment we can’t fight for the top 5.”

The rain complicated everything: “Unfortunately, today we should have tested a lot and tomorrow we should have focused on pace and small details, but we won’t be able to do that. So tomorrow we will continue with testing, testing the different bikes and we will decide whether, in the run-up to Portimao, we will improve both bikes or go in one direction.”

“The new technical manager wants to see with his own eyes what is happening,” explained the eight-time world champion. “We are trying some things that didn’t work last year, but he wants to try. So I accept this role and I accept that now in preseason he needs to have that information, this is the time to do it.”
