Remco Evenepoel won Liège-Bastogne-Liège, repeating last year’s success with a decisive attack on the Redoute.
“It’s incredible. A very hard, very long race, even with difficult environmental conditions. I have to thank the team for the way they rode. My teammates were spectacular, they helped me score a magnificent victory, and I have to say it’s a crazy feeling to do a double here in Liège, especially with the rainbow jersey on.”
No dice for big favorite Tadej Pogacar, who suffered a fracture in the scaphoid and lunate of his left wrist in a crash after 85 km.
