Venice says goodbye to Mitchell Watt: “You made history.”
Umana Reyer announced in a note the consensual termination of its agreement with Mitchell Watt after six seasons.
“321 games experienced together that led him to fourth place in club history for appearances. Fifth all-time for minutes played with more than 3,000 points in Serie A (2680 with us, fifth in history), in orogranata Mitchell won a scudetto, an Italian Cup and a FIBA Europe Cup. Watt also ends his career in Reyer as second-best all-time in blocked shots and third all-time in rebounds captured and overall rating.
The words of President Federico Casarin: “Mitchell is one of those players who made the history of this club. He will always have a prominent place in our Society, not only for what he has done on the court with his performances and achievements, which we have all witnessed, but above all for the moral and human values that have always distinguished him.”
“In fact, I want to thank Mitch as a man because he has given so much and contributed so much to our growth: he has been an example for everyone, especially the younger ones. After so many years together our paths are parting, but this is certainly not goodbye because Mitch will forever remain one of the family. On behalf of all Umana Reyer I thank him and wish him the best of luck, in sports, but especially in life. We look forward to seeing you soon at Taliercio, Mitchell.”
