F1, for Antonio Giovinazzi a door reopens
Vettel’s season-ending retirement triggers a series of market entanglements
Formula 1 is preparing to experience another mini-revolution, mainly related to Sebastian Vettel’s decision to retire from racing at the end of the season.
A choice that, inevitably, opens several scenarios related to the drivers’ market and may also involve one who was in F1 until last year and would not disdain a return to the Circus, Antonio Giovinazzi.
The Apulian, formerly of Alfa Romeo, is unlikely to leave the Ferrari orbit by settling at Aston Martin, but he could take advantage of a seat eventually vacated by whoever is going to take Vettel’s place, should it be a driver already currently committed to the championship.
In order to start any negotiations, however, it will be necessary to understand how Aston Martin will decide to move with a view to 2023: the driver from Martina Franca can then make his evaluations and try again in the top open-wheel series.
