NFL, Bill Belichick and Patriots part ways after a full 24 years
The coach said he will be a Patriots for life
.
Even the best love stories, at least in sports, eventually come to an end. As reported by ESPN, the relationship between the New England Patriots and Belichick è has come to an end. After a good 24 years together, the time has come for separation (the coach still had one year left on his contract). A separation by mutual agreement, without trauma, except for that of bidding farewell to a coach capable of winning six Super Bowls with the Patriots.
"We had a plan to build a football team that exceeded my wildest dreams and expectations. I am very excited about it, I am proud of it. I will always have these wonderful memories with me, I will carry them with me for the rest of my life", the words of Belichick himself who also added that he will remain one of the Patriots for the rest of his life.
No retirement. At 71 years old, the dean of coaches è is ready to get back into the game elsewhere. There are as many as seven NFL franchises looking for a new head coach. The Atlanta Falcons, at the moment, appear to be in pole position to secure Belichick. There will be a lot of talk about this, as well as about the next Patriots coach who, after 24 years, will no longer be Belichick.
