AS Roma announced that José Mourinho and his technical staff will leave the club effective immediately. Mourinho had been announced as the 60th coach in Roma’s history in May 2021. He led the team to the Conference League win in Tirana on May 25, 2022, and to the Europa League final in Budapest last season.

"We thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and commitment since his arrival at the Giallorossi,” said Dan and Ryan Friedkin. “We will forever cherish great memories of his stewardship, but we believe that, in the best interests of the Club, immediate change is needed. We wish José and his staff the best for the future”.

Further updates regarding the new technical leadership of the First Team will be announced soon. Already in the early morning the name of Daniele De Rossi had been mentioned as a possible replacement for the Special One, to whom è cost dearly the last defeat, suffered at San Siro against AC Milan on Sunday night.
