Udinese, fan banned for life from stadium

Udinese has taken action after what happened in Saturday’s match against AC Milan.  "Udinese Calcio announces, following the identification of the person primarily responsible for the deplorable racist insults to Maignan, that the person in question will be, indefinitely, banned from our stadium with immediate effect" reads the official note issued by the Friulian club.

"The club" confirms its commitment against racism and considers it essential to apply strong measures to send a concrete message against discrimination, not only in soccer, but in society". The Club promptly, already since Saturday night, has been working in close cooperation with the Authorities; making available all its cameras and the state-of-the-art instrumentation with which è the Bluenergy Stadium is equipped in order to give a quick response to the investigations still underway".

"Udinese thanks the Udine Police Headquarters for its cooperation and confirms its firmness in striking the perpetrators of the insults that besmirch the sports ethics of the club, the Region, the city of Udine and a fan base that has always been a model of integration and respect".
