Alex Vinatzer did not hide his regret after he straddled in the slalom on the Planai in Schladming. "This straddle really hurts because I felt very confident and I thought I was going to make a good final stretch – admitted the Italian in the words reported by FISI -. I am very sorry because it would have been great to make a good result here in Austria. I always try to push because é è beautiful to always be able to fight for the first positions. The skiing è improved, but we need to work again".
Ninth place instead for Tommaso Sala, 1"78 behind the winner. After making a few small mistakes in the first part, the Brianzolo è was almost perfect in the second part of the heat: "I saw my teammates at the finish line and I got excited. I am skiing well, I still lack a little bit’ of continuity in the two heats, but I am convinced that I can do something important in the next races”.
As for the other azzurri, sharp forking for Tobias Kastlunger in the first run, which forced him to bid farewell to the race. Stefano Gross had been 2"93 behind and failed to qualify for the second. Late in the race were Matteo Canins, Simon Maurberger and Corrado Barbera.
For the record, the race è was won by German Linus Strasser, who repeated his success on the Kitzbuehel ice, thanks to a final time of 1145"20, 28 hundredths better than Norwegian Timon Haugan and 1"02 ahead of Frenchman Clement Noel.
