Australian Open, Bolelli-Vavassori, bitter final: dream dashed

Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori’s dream at the Australian Open stops in the final. The Italian pair, in fact, è had to surrender to the duo formed by India's Rohan Bopanna and Australia's Matthew Ebden, second favorites in the seeding, who won with a score of 7-6 7-5 after one hour and 39 minutes.
Balance reigned in the first set, although the Azzurri had to save two break points in the first two games on serve: so it came down to the tie-break where Bopanna and Ebden were flawless and won it 7 points to 0. In the second set è again the service game dominates, but on the most beautiful (5-5) Vavassori is broken, sending Ebden to serve the match: the Australian puts few firsts but Bopanna è perfect at the net and closes on the first match point with the smash, giving himself the Australian Slam.
"We had a very good two weeks together. I think and hope we will have more chances to play together and win great tournaments. Thanks to those who supported us" said Bolelli after the match. He is echoed Vavassori: "We are doing great things, I am sure it will be a year full of joys for us. I hope to relive such moments".
