Matteo Arnaldi reveals what he talks about with Jannik Sinner
The Ligurian tennis player wants to play as many ATP tournaments as possible
Protagonist at an event in Genoa, Arnaldi, returning from Australia (where he è entered, for the first time, the main draw), revealed his goals for 2024: "Honestly there are many. I have already achieved one, entering the Australian Open main draw. Then I would like to play a few more ATP tournaments and level. I am thinking about the main draw in Indian Wells, Miami or Monte Carlo. Of course, I also aim to move up in the rankings and it would be nice to be seeded at Slam" level, his words to Corriere dello Sport.
Protagonist of an important 2023, Arnaldi knows perfectly well the best qualities of Sinner: "In general, he has a good time on the ball. Forehand or backhand doesn’t make that much difference for him. I really like the way he hits the ball and then è always lì in the match. He doesn’t get conditioned, he always plays his game".
The San Remo native, who won the Davis Cup alongside Sinner himself, also revealed what he and the South Tyrolean talk about in the moments when they get together: "We talk about Formula 1, engines in general, although, both with Jannik and the other Italians, in the end we almost always discuss tennis and how we can improve", his clear words.
