Sofia Goggia breaks giant taboo: “It was a liberation”
The words of Sofia Goggia
After a fast that lasted six years (exactly January 6, 2018), Sofia Goggia è managed to find the top 5 again in a World Cup giant slalom. Speaking at the microphones of "Rai", the skier from Bergamo did not hide her satisfaction for her fifth place in Kronplatz and for breaking this tabù.
"I am very happy. The only thing I can reproach myself today è the last part of the first run, where I really fell asleep in the rhythm. In this second one I went down just thinking about having a good run and I did my best. I knew that in the upper part I could ski hard and push myself a little bit more to the limit, then I went into the dark and I couldn't see anything. I really suffer from the visibility conditions when we ski in the shadows and the snow looks blue" began the skier from Bergamo.
"When I saw that I was first and realized that I had done a very good run, è it was a bit of a liberation. In this specialty, it had been three years since I had been able to be the ì and I have to thank my coach Luca Agazzi, who took me by the hand and led me along this technical path together with Dt Rulfi. I am really happy that I was finally able to express myself on my past levels. I put in a lot of effort and a lot of work and now you can see the results" added Sofia Goggia.
