Carlos Alcaraz passes easily to the second round
It's lasted just under two hours J.J. Wolf's resistance against Carlos Alcaraz in the first round of Roland Garros: in fact, the Murcian seized his widest victory in Paris, leaving his opponent just four games in the 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 final. A show of strength thanks to which Alcaraz (who in the first rounds of Slam tournaments now has 13 wins against zero losses) tries to remove doubts about his physical condition, sending a message to rivals.
"I don't need to play so many matches to find my best form,” said the world No. 3 in the post-match interview.
In Madrid I played only four and I would have liked to go on in the tournament, but to get to 100 percent I rather need to focus on training".
The condition of his forearm, which has bothered him in no small way in these early months of 2024, is therefore good by Alcaraz’s own admission: "I have been training with some of the best players in Paris this week,” he said. “The arm is getting better and better and I feel good".
Curiously, one of the four games won by Wolf, out of the 22 played in total, è came early in the match on Alcaraz’s serve: è it was però the only sharpness of the No. 107 in the ATP rankings, who è then had to bow to the overpowering of the higher-ranked opponent.
