Nicolò Barella extends agreement with Inter
While waiting to see if he will be available to coach Luciano Spalletti for Italy's debut at Euro 2024 against Albania, scheduled for Saturday evening, Nicolò Barella has officially renewed his contract with Inter: the previous agreement, which expired in 2026, è has in fact been extended by three years and will go to close at the end of the 2028/29 season.
"FC Internazionale Milano announces that it has reached an agreement to extend the contract of the player Nicolò Barella: the midfielder born in 1997 will be Nerazzurri until June 30, 2029" reads the website of the Nerazzurri club, which announced the official announcement of the agreement late Tuesday afternoon.
"The extension of the relationship – the club based in Viale della Liberazione still explains, talking about the Sardinian midfielder – è a natural consequence of the five seasons in Nerazzurri of the number 23 who has collected a total of 235 appearances, topped by 22 goals".
Barella è arrived at Inter in the season in the summer of 2019 after experiences at Cagliari and, on loan, at Como. With the Nerazzurri, with whom he always played at least 40 matches in the season, he won two Scudetti, three Italian Super Cups and two Italian Cups, as well as several individual awards. With the national team, he won the 2020 European Championships, held in the summer of 2021 due to Covid.
