Marco Belinelli gives a hint about his future
Marco Belinelli moves away from retirement date
Despite the disappointment of the Scudetto final lost by his Virtus Bologna against Olimpia Milano, Marco Belinelli è is determined not only to honor the contract that binds him to the Felsina society until June 2025, but to continue his competitive activity even beyond that date, as he himself explained to 'Tuttosport'.
"I have to meet with the company to talk about many things and, in particular, about future plans and to see what team will be the next Virtus,” said the 38-year-old ex-NBA player, “hoping that there may be a chance to grow and become even more competitive. I always enjoy playing and I want to continue to do so".
Belinelli, in short, still sees the end of a career heading into his 24th season as a professional far off: the talent from San Giovanni in Persiceto è d'on the other hand, just back from a satisfying season from an individual point of view, culminating with winning the MVP award of the regular season in Serie A.
From his beginnings in 2001 wearing the Virtus Bologna jersey, Belinelli has come a long way, later donning the Fortitudo game uniform before moving on to the NBA, where he played for Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Hornets, Chicago Bulls, San Antonio Spurs (with whom he won the title in 2014), Sacramento Kings, Hornets again but this time in Charlotte, Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers, before returning to the Spurs which è followed at the end of November 2020 by that to Virtus, with which he won the championship in 2021 and the EuroCup in the following season.
