Angel Hidalgo prevailed in a playoff against three-time champion Jon Rahm to win the Spanish Open. The two Spanish players, along with David Puig, began the final day as tournament leaders and finished tied with a score of -14.

Both scored a birdie on the first playoff hole, played on hole 18, but Hidalgo got the better of them on the second hole, making another birdie, while Rahm è stopped at par, thus having to settle for second place.

The final round, played at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, held everyone in suspense until the last hole. Rahm had to score consecutive birdies on 17 and 18 to force a tiebreaker.

Puig, on the other hand, finished the tournament in third place, sharing the position with other talents such as Sweden&#39s Jens Fahrbring, England&#39s Tommy Fleetwood and Joe Dean, Scotland&#39s Grant Forrest, and America&#39s Sean Crocker.
