Federico Pellegrino wins FIS 10km in Muonio
Federico Pellegrino wins and convinces in the 10km free technique that completed the triptych of FIS races in Muonio, Finland, a competitive test two weeks before the World Cup season kicks off.
The champion from Valle d’Aosta dominated the scene by posting the best time in 23’15″0 after taking the lead in each time trial, to overtake Germany’s Friedrich Moch by 7″3 and Finland’s Arsi Ruuskanen by 16″9. A trio of excellent tests then for Pellegrino, who comes out of the Muonio tests with a podium finish in the sprint in classic, a placing close to the top ten in Saturday’s distance in alternate and today’s victory.
And in about ten days it’s back to Finland for the first tests of the maximum circuit: between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1, an individual and a sprint in classic and a mass start in free technique are scheduled.
È excellent overall performance of the blue team that also greets the fourth place of Davide Graz, detached by 17″ from his teammate and already remained from the podium by a single tenth of a second. Just behind, there’s Elia Barp (+17″6), fifth across the line and in line in turn for a podium spot for most of the distance, while Paolo Ventura è good eighth at 21″0. Soon after, 16th place for Francesco De Fabiani, who pays 48″ from Pellegrino, with Simone Daprà 20th at 55″3 and Michael Hellweger 36th at 1’26.
