Mourning in the sports world, farewell to Aldo Agroppi

After he stopped coaching, he had become a columnist
.
Farewell to Aldo Agroppi. On the morning of Jan. 2, he è passed away at the hospital in Piombino, his hometown. He was 80 years old. One of the most controversial football personalities. Known for being profoundly "anti-juventino", as a pundit he was particularly fierce, as he always spoke his mind.
His career as a footballer è was mainly linked to the Torino shirt, a club he played with from 1967 to 1975, with an impressive 212 total appearances and 15 goals. His debut in the top division è occurred on March 15, 1968, in Torino-Sampdoria 4-2. With the granata jersey he won the Coppa Italia twice (1967/68 and 1970/71).
In 1977 he ended, playing with Perugia, his playing career. He decided to devote himself to the complicated role of coach. He started right at Perugia (youth), then moved on to Pescara. The first high point in the 1981/82 season when he led Pisa to Serie A at the end of a spectacular season.
He reached his peak in the summer of 1985 when he was called to lead Fiorentina in the top Italian league. A great opportunity that he fails to take full advantage of (clashes with the then purple captain Giancarlo Antognoni). Brief appearances at Como, Ascoli and Fiorentina again followed (as a substitute, negative experience). He then gave himself to the role of pundit, which fit him like a glove. È guest on many successful sports programs, such as Domenica Sportiva.
