With a time 145 thousandths slower than Fabio Quartararo’s 1:35.610, Pecco Bagnaia earned a place on the front row for the Sprint Race and the Jerez GP, avoiding starting one row further behind by just three thousandths of a second. An all in all positive result for the three-time world champion, who to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘ made no secret of his strategy.

“Having fallen in FP2, I found myself with only one bike at my disposal, so I decided not to take any particular risks – admitted Bagnaia -. In the first time attack I was a little more careful, in the second I pushed harder and gained the front row, a really important result in a track where starting in front is fundamental”.

The gap to Marc Marquez’s best lap is 112 thousandths: “Already in FP2, despite the crash, I saw that I was shortening the gap to Marquez– said the Piedmontese -. Now there is the Sprint where in addition to the Ducatis there will be to watch out for Fabio Quartararo who starts in front of everyone, I hope to start well and dictate the pace of the race”.

In the first four race weekends of MotoGp 2025, Pecco Bagnaia took one win, in the Grand Prix of the Americas, collecting two other podiums (a second and a third place) at the Sunday Gp level and three third places in the Sprint races. In Qatar he disappointed in the Saturday race, finishing in eighth place, while in the race he finished in second place, behind Marc Marquez.
