Emma Navarro, Jannik Sinner and Camila Giorgi: explosive triangle and some regrets

In these days when there is so much talk about Emma Navarro an’idea takes hold that will always remain suspended in the’air, like a high ball never crushed: Camila Giorgi and Jannik Sinner in mixed doubles.
It has never happened and it will never happen. Yet the’image is intriguing. Two of the most powerful performers in contemporary Italian tennis, he glacial and methodical, capable of becoming world No. 1, she instinctive and aggressive, and who could (and perhaps should) have hoisted themselves at least into the top ten, side by side on the same side of the net.
They were the best players in the world.
Camila brought with her explosive shots, searing advances, and that ability to break anyone’s rhythm. Jannik is a constant engine, surgical precision combined with a mental toughness that feels like granite. Together they could have formed a lethal weapon: devastating serve and response, constant pressure, zero points given away.
It would not have been just about results. It would have been a symbol: two generations, two characters, two complementary styles uniting under the same flag. A pair capable of exciting, of attracting audiences, of making people talk about them even off the field.
The regret is all there, in that gap that was never filled. Like a match that was never played, but that many would have liked to see at least once.
