Pecco Bagnaia has no explanation after the black weekend in Austria: after the disastrous Sprint Race closed with the withdrawal, the Ducati rider also struggled in the Sunday race, finishing in eighth position. A performance that is difficult to explain, given the’excellent Friday and the race pace that had held the two-time MotoGP world champion during practice.

Bagnaia to Sky confessed that he can&#8217t understand what&#8217s going on:“It&#8217s a bit like the whole season, things happen that I struggle to understand. I have always been fast on this track, today I found myself in eighth place 12″ from first and lapping really slow. It is a difficult situation to accept, I could have understood at some tracks where I also struggled in the past, but here I have always gone fast”.

“I was going slow everywhere, in general the riders in front of me were doing everything better than me. I looked at last year’s race time and I had gone 12″ stronger-there is something we have been missing since the beginning of the year”.

“Friday and Saturday morning I was very good especially with the used tires, then in the Sprint what happened. This morning everything was perfect again, in the race we went back a little bit to the usual. Other years I could handle the rear tire, in 2025 I’m not getting it. For some reason, I am no longer able to handle the rear”.
