F1, Lewis Hamilton sends message to Charles Leclerc and Ferrari
The British champion makes no secret of his ambitions
“I was even hoping to take pole, but obviously it was not meant to be.” With these words Lewis Hamilton described his feelings on the sidelines of qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship. Hamilton will start from third position, behind Ferrarista Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez.
The Mercedes driver explained, “I don’t know if it’s this track that makes me bring out magic, but today we really gave something extra and got the first top-3 of the year in qualifying. I felt I could also get on the front row, but I’m still happy and grateful to the team.”
Hamilton, then, made no secret of his ambitions for Sunday’s race, sending a message of challenge to the Redhead and his fellow Monegasque: “Our car has the pace to fight with the Ferraris, we have proven that. Overtaking is difficult but we will bet everything on strategy and if we are perfect we can get a great result.”
