At Misano Adriatico, on the circuit dedicated to the memory of Marco Simoncelli, the curtain rises on the weekend of the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Riviera di Rimini, the second round within the Italian borders for what concerns the MotoGP 2025. There’s great expectation, in particular, for MotoGp, even if the arithmetic will not allow the’coronation of the new world champion.

Marc Marquez, in fact, has squandered the chance to have already in Misano the match point for what would be his ninth world title, the seventh rainbow seal in the premier class after those of the seasons 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. In fact, his second place in his home long race in Catalonia has led him to retain a 182-point lead over his brother Alex, with the prospect, in the event of a full score and a double retirement of the Team Gresini rider, of moving to +219 with 222 points still available. Subtleties, certainly, but in this way it won&#8217t be Italy where the number 93 will celebrate a title now on the horizon anyway.

To further spoil the party will try the large tricolor troop, with Pecco Bagnaia who after a series of nightmarish race weekends seeks redemption in front of the Italian fans: the’other official Ducati rider has not been on the podium since the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring and in recent GPs has confirmed, never going beyond seventh place, that he has not found the right feeling with the Desmosedici GP-25. The three-time world champion will try in Misano to take some satisfaction.

Of the other Italians at the start, watch out for Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli, who despite the double withdrawal in Catalonia have confirmed to be quite fast, to Marco Bezzecchi, who a few kilometers from his home wants to give himself and all’Aprilia a result to remember, to Enea Bastianini, finally a protagonist in KTM after a start of the season below expectations, and to Luca Marini, who race after race is helping to bring the Honda back to an interesting level of competitiveness.
