Barcelona, Xavi opens the door to Lionel Messi’s return
Rumors suggesting a return of Lionel Messi to Barcelona have multiplied in recent weeks. Xavi, when asked about the issue in his pre-Inter Milan press conference, put it this way, “Now is not the time to talk about Leo, I love him very much and wish him the best. Barcelona is his home, but we are not doing him a favor by talking about him. I hope he stays quiet in Paris.”
The challenge against Simone Inzaghi’s gang hides more than a few pitfalls: “Inter have a very strong defensive system and a different form than those we have faced so far. Inzaghi works well in attack, he has two forwards and in Spain it is difficult to find someone who plays like that. Playing against a three-man defense? At the tactical level they play with two forwards, I think we can reinforce midfield and attack.”
“We come from Munich where we didn’t collect and we want to show that it’s time to make it in this competition. It will be a great game. For me in Munich we were superior to Bayern We played better than them, now we are in a positive moment and we have to show it from the first minute,” Xavi concluded.
